Temperature & Humidity Sensors
Model 5190-F Temperature & Humidity Probe
The Model 5190 Temperature and Humidity Probe is designed for a variety of environmental monitoring applications, including AWI's Automated Weather Observing Systems (AWOS). This probe operates with a DC supply voltage and has a low current draw. Relative humidity is measure with a thin-film capacitor sensor, while temperature is measured using a highly accurate Pt100 Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD). The low drift and wide operating range of the Pt100 RTD make the Model 5190 ideal for precision applications.

Model 8141 Self Aspirated Radiation Shield (SARS)
The Self-Aspirated Radiation Shield is designed to house temperature and humidity sensors in an environment protected from the thermal effects of solar radiation and precipitation. This shield is typically used in applications where the AC power required by a motor-aspirated rational shield is not available.
Three models are available in the 8141 series, to accommodate any one of several temperature and relative humidity sensors. A threaded hex plug adapter secures the sensor inside the shield, while providing easy access to the probe for things like calibration.
All 8141 series shields are constructed of 12 thermoplastic discs that block direct and reflected solar radiation from all angles, while permitting air to flow past the sensor. This happens using convection and wind. The disc material is specially formulated for high reflectivity and low thermal conductivity, and is resistant to ultraviolet light for improved weather resistance and durability.

Model 8190 - Motor Aspirated Radiation Shield (MARS)
The 8190 series Motor Aspirated Radiation Shield (MARS) provides protected mounting for temperature and humidity probes, shielding them from direct solar heat and precipitation contact. The 8190 series are virtually maintenance free radiation shields constructed of heavy-duty, non-corrosive polymer, and feature a reliable, long-life 12 VDC fan for continuous aspiration. Each MARS accommodates one probe: a temperature probe, a humidity probe, or a combination sensor. All cable terminations to the MARS are made through weatherproof connectors to ensure accurate readings and extend the life of the equipment.

Psychrometer
Models 5230 & 5231 - Assman Psychrometer
AWI's Assman Psychrometers are designed to give precision wet and dry bulb measurements in a convenient yet durable, portable case. The psychrometer includes a spring-driven fan for forced aspiration, and the measuring thermometers. Accessories include a carrying case to protect the instrument during transport, a permanent mount support arm, a carrying handle, a syringe, and a psychrometric chart.
The Model 5230 and 5231 Assman Psychrometers are designed to give accurate reliable readings every time. The quality housing construction, precision thermometers, and constant ventilation by the fan combine to ensure you receive valuable results. Since the fan is operated by a spring motor a power source is not required, making the Assman Psychrometer the ultimate portable solution.
The measuring portion of the instrument is constructed of ventilating tubes and protective covers. The psychrometer uses two thermometers, one for wet bulb measurement, and one for dry bulb measurements. Ambient temperature is measured by reading only the dry bulb thermometer.
